Il est applicable aux boues issues : de la collecte des eaux usées urbaines ; de l'épuration des eaux usées urbaines et/ou industrielles ; de la production d'eau potable, et aux boues d'autres origines telles que définies dans le glossaire de termes techniques des eaux résiduaires NF EN 16323.
