Le présent document décrit une méthode d'essai pour la détermination de la qualité de malaxage et de la tendance à la ségrégation des mélanges bitumineux à chaud. Un échantillon chaud du mélange est placé dans une trémie conique. On ouvre la plaque du fond de la trémie pour laisser tomber le mélange sur une plate-forme, formant ainsi un tas conique. Une trappe est ouverte dans la plate-forme sous le centre du tas. La partie contenant les éléments fins à l'intérieur du tas s'écoule par l'ouverture. On détermine la teneur en bitume et la granulométrie de la partie intérieure plus fine ainsi que la partie plus grossière restante du mélange bitumineux. La valeur de la ségrégation est calculée comme étant la différence entre la teneur en bitume de la partie contenant les éléments fins et celle de la partie contenant les éléments grossiers.
